Using the Execute Preloaded Option for ABAP Dataflows in SAP BODS
Hello All,
This is regarding the use of Advanced Option in SAP Application Type (ECC) Datastore settings in SAP BODS 4.2, where there are two options to select from for ABAP Execution Option property: (1)Generate and Execute and (2) Execute Preloaded. Since our ECC client is often locked by BASIS team even on DEV environment, we would like to make use of the second option 'Execute Preloaded' so that we could extract the data from ECC tables without having to ask the BASIS team to unlock the ECC client every time before extraction.
The problem is that we are getting an error upon generating and uploading the ABAP program to ECC client. I have searched the blogs and so far I have only found that there are certain ABAP programs or function modules that come with SAP BODS which need to be installed by BASIS team on ECC side to allow the ABAP dataflows to be generated and uploaded to ECC server. I would appreciate it if anyone could provide a list of which function modules BASIS needs to install on ECC or a blog that provides details around using this option.
So far, from the SAP BODS designer, we are performing below steps but getting an error upon generating and uploading the ABAP dataflow program:
1. Create a test ABAP Dataflow using SAP ECC datastore. Provide the ABAP program options.
2. Right click, select Generate ABAP Program.
3. Once the ABAP Program Generation Dialog box appears, check the box "Upload Generated Program".
4. Upon clicking OK, we are getting the following error:
The ABAP program <ZRTEST01> for ABAP data flow <RT_TEST_R3> (datastore <R3_DS>) was not uploaded: < RFC CallReceive error <Function /BODS/RFC_ABAP_INSTALL_AND_RUN: RFC_ABAP_MESSAGE- Exception condition "NOT_SUPPORTED_BY_GUI" trigger[SAP NWRFC 720][SAP Partner ### ][clientname][servername][accountname][4103]>. >.

An existing connection was forcibly closed
Hi,
I'm using DS 4.0 SP3.
My daily job until last thursday worked correctly, but last three days I've got below error:
ODBC data source <LPPLSQLCL0002\LPPLSQLCL0001> error message for operation <SQLFetchScroll>: <[Microsoft][SQL Server Native
Client 10.0]TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
This happened almost at the same time: 4am - 5am but every time in diffrent workflow.
I've checked log of the server where DS is isntalled and I haven't found any error.
I've checked with administrator the log of sql server 2008 also and there was no information of error.
Do you have any idea where is the problem and what else can I check?

Target repository is not showing up for Export Jobs DS4.2

I am trying to export a Jobs from Qas environment to Production via Data Services Designer Export to Repository option. When I pass the credentials for Target system I am missing 1 particular Repo. We have 3 Repo's configured and I see only 2. Has anyone had this situaton

Steps to set up Central and local repositories and recommendations
Hi All,
I have only set up local repositories because I was the only developer but I now have a need to have central and local repositories. Assuming that SAP BO IPS and SAP BODS have been installed already.
Server:
Steps to set up Central and local repositories and recommendations:
1. Create a db in the dbms on the server to be the central repo.
2. Set this an odbc for this db.
3. Set this db up as a central repository on the repository manager.
4. Link this central repo to the designer in IPS/BO and assign relevant permissions to the users.
Client:
1. Install BODS client tools
Questions:
1. Where do I setup database to be to local repository, on the server or individual client machines?
2. Where do I create needed odbc connections server or client?
3. Which repository manager do I use to create the local repository, server or client?
4. Does each user have his local repository or one shared by everyone?
5. Link local repositories to IPS/BO
6. Assign full permissions to relevent users.
Please guide on the steps, I am not getting this info with proper steps to follow and where what must be done.

BODI-1112339 error while importing table from HANA
Hi Experts,
I created a Data store for HANA database Connecting through DSN (using the
HDBODBC32). I am able to connect the database through DS but not able to import the table.
Below is the error message I am facing:
ODBC datasource <DSN_Name> error message for operation <SQL columns>:
<[SAP AG] [LIBODBCHDB32DLL] [HDBODBC32] general error-10304 Parameter/Column(5) not Bound.> (BODI-1112339)
Please suggest how to resolve this issue.

Data Services link is not removed from CMC
We had a system with BI and DS installed on same server. I removed DS software from server. But still Data Services link appears in CMC page.
I redloyed web apps. But still DS link shows up in CMC, and also all the references of DS user groups still exists in CMC.
How do i get rid of all the references?
BO version: 4.0 SP5

Universe connection error - DF
Hi
I have created a project in Data Federator and deployed it. when I try to access the same to create the universe am getting a connection error, I did check all the drivers are installed properly.
am using DF JDBC driver to connect to the project project.
any ideas what am I missing.
Getting an invalid driver error
"CS: Building ConnectString/ParamString failed : SBO parameter "JDBC Class" not specified"

Information Steward Profiling Results
Hi,
Can you give some informations on how Information Steward compute profiling results on Data Insight ?
I try to launch a simple profiling on a flat file with 478000 rows. Settings are :
Results displayed when i launch associated task :
Only 6619 rows were processed during the profiling task ?
How can i do to profile the entire perimeter of rows ?

How to execute BODS job using a service account like SVC* instead of using SYSTEM account?
We are trying execute a job that reads data from a file located in network drive. It is throwing access issue - unable to open the file.
We saw that job is running with SYSTEM as user instead of service account SVC*.
how do we change the job server configuration to run the job with service account?

SAP BOBJ - Jobs which were scheduled to execute everyday in BODS scheduler were not triggered sometimes
Hello BOBJ experts,
I am new to BOBJ, so need your help on below issue:
Under SAP DATA SERVICES, developer team had designed few jobs that runs daily
We had some intermittent issues wit the scheudle.. Few jobs wont run as per scheudled time.
Once they try to re-run it, they run without issues - So, no issues with the job nor the job schedule.
Again at the same time, few other jobs run as per schedule and as i said the issue is intermittent and random
Below are the version details:

How to remote execute a shell script from BODS
Hi,
I have to call a shell script (say Test.sh) which is on a Linux machine/server.
My BODS is on a Unix machine(AIX 6.1).
Now i need to use exec() function to call this shell script and remote execute it.
This shell script has a command which makes use of a command line utility that's already installed on the Linux server.
Note : I am not sure of the syntax and what parameters i have to pass to access the shell script that's on a different server.
Please help me in doing this.

CMC vs IPS (Data services Config)
Hi All,
I have 2 questions:
1. What are the minimum permissions required for the BO user to be used in Data Services? We have just installed Data services for a client who has been running SAP BO for a while, now they are worried about giving Admin right to the user that will be used in Data Services.
2. If they decide to go for the IPS route, does IPS come with a free license, or do they have to may for the license?

BODS SFDC CDC Error

I enable CDC for the SFDC DataStore and also we provide the CDC options
1. CDC subscription name
2. Enable the check-Point
But I am getting the below error:

I have some problems to write a script to rename a file on a network path.
My script is :

Am getting the error :
